British LVT-2 and -4 Buffalo, 3 new sets from Star Decals

For a while now there have been some neat 1/35 kits of the Buffalo, the LVT-4 Amtrac on the market thanks to both AFV Club and Italeri. Good new then is that we now have some more finishing options available for your models thanks to Star Decals once again.


35-C 1328 LVT-2 and LVT(A)-2

The Buffalo is a big model in 1/35 so just 3 options in this set, plus some of the standard stencils used on them. This is really a revised version of an earlier set, 35-C 1082. It features a number of redesigned/corrected decals to improve the accuracy as much as possible.

A - LVT(A)-2 with early side armour, belonging to 26 ASRE (Assault Squadron Royal Engineers), 5 ARRE, Westkapelle, Walcheren, 1 November 1944. For an overall Olive Green colour, and it has some alternative markings for a different vehicle, with an armoured cab, used by the same unit.
B - LVT-2 with an armoured cab, thought to be from 82 ASRE, 6 ARRE (Armoured Regiment Royal Engineers), 79th Armoured Div Nijmegen, Holland, 8 February 1945. Overall Olive Drab.
C - LVT(A)-2 with mid/late side armour, with 11 RTR (Royal Tank Regiment), 79th Armoured Div, Crossing the Rhine River in 1945. Another in plain overall Olive Drab.

This set has markings for 3 complete models.

A - LVT-4 Buffalo, early side armour. 11 RTR, 79th Armoured Div, Operation Vitality, South Beveland in October 1944. Overall Olive Drab.
B - LVT-4 Buffalo, early side armour. 26 ASRE, 5 ARRE, 79th Armoured Div, Pictured on LCT 979, Westkapelle, Walcheren, 1 November 1944. Overall Olive Drab.
C - LVT-4 Buffalo, early side armour. 11 RTR, 79th Armoured Div, Middelburg, Walcheren, 6 November 1944

35-C 1330 LVT-4 Buffalo from Arnheim to the Crossing of Rhine & Elbe

This set has markings for 4 different vehicles, one of which has a more unusual camouflage scheme, so I suspect may prove a particularly popular choice.

A - LVT-4 Buffalo, early side armour. 79 ASRE, 79th Armoured Div, crossing the Elbe River in 1945. This one is unusual for having a 3-colour camouflage scheme, with Olive Drab plus Black and an Anti-Rust Red paint.
B - LVT-4 Buffalo with mid/late side armour. HQ 79th Armoured Div, Elbe crossing 1945. In plain overall Olive Drab.
C - LVT-4 Buffalo, early side armour. 11 RTR, 79th Armoured Div, Belgium, Arnheim area in 1944. In plain overall Olive Drab.
D - LVT-4 Buffalo with mid/late side armour. 5 RTR, 79th Armoured Div., Rhine crossing in March 1945. Another in overall plain Olive Drab.
